If you trying to cut wood, Lots of smoke!
Seriously I often turn my saw blade backwards to cut plastic. I usually use a high tooth count ply blade. It sort of burns/melts it way through but leaves a real smooth cut edge.

Does anyone know if you get the jointech full package that included a router table whether you need something else? In the description they mention the table comes without the rail. I assume they mean table rails that are used to connect the table to the Shopsmith. The price of the rails are around ...

Nick I think you missed Dusty's point. If there should be .005 clearance between the trunion and the crossbar why not put a .005 shim/washer on the piviot to insure the clearance? Of course the clearance wouldn't be maintained where the washer contacts both parts but it rub area would be so small it...

What saw blade do you use and why?
Presently I use a the carbide combination blade sold by Shopsmith on my saw. It has been resharpened so I'm sure the cut quality now reflects the sharpener rather than the manufacture. However I have always been satisfied with the cut. 1. What blade do you commonly use and why? 2. Do you concern you...

Table alignment
Nick in the thread on Main Table ribbing you gave a three part adjustment to the properly align the table. In step C. Square the miter gauge slots to the axis of rotation in the sanding/sawing position. You said, "Measure the distance between the disc and the table slot. Then turn the disc so t...

Nick I have a question. When do step C you say adjust the table until both measurements are the same. I was using a dail indicator and I messed and I played and I messed and I played and to the best I could get the two was two points on the scale difference front to back. The scale I used has .1 - ....

Thanks everyone for your input. It looks like I will be re-checking my alignment and leveling my tubes. When I originally aligned the tables I just couldn't get it as close as I wanted it, but I never checked the tubes for level, so if I do that then maybe I can get the tables aligned. I've got my ...
