I think it is hilarious and can see why people actually wanted the real thing. Wish I would have thought of it and at that price it would be worth having as a conversation piece or a gift to a fellow woodworker.

Thanks for the help everyone. Looks like it will go in the recycle bin till metal prices recover or I decide to make something else out of parts of it.

I think you are right. If anyone needs this, let me know. I would hate to throw it away if someone needs it.

In the Life article it mentioned the family was running 4 tools at the same time off the Shopsmith. With the mother buffing the car and daddy throwing sawdust, I doubt she would be buffing long.

I ended up with a bunch of Shopsmith goodies from an auction this week. Going through everything I have figured out most of it but this one eludes me. It was in a box with some SS dado blade sets and some old 500 faceplates. Any ideas?

I use both. 3 in 1 in the plastic bottles also has the pullout oil spout and is much easier to find in local stores. The Zoom will be fine although I didn't know it was paraffin based.

If properly cleaned and waxed, they all sink unless you hold pressure on them.
