Re: Questions About Plumbing O Rings

Thanks to thunderbirdbat, RFGuy and BuckeyeDennis for your inputs. I've still gotten no response from three faucet distributors or two O-ring distributors, so am going to try ordering another size O ring, this time with a 1.5 mm cross section and 37 mm inside diameter. It will need to stretch to a 4...

Questions About Plumbing O Rings

I am hoping the experienced and knowledgeable forum members can help with this non-woodworking subject. I know there are a lot of very smart engineers here, so here goes. I am trying to replace some O rings on my 37 year old discontinued kitchen faucet. The manufacturer's technical service departmen...

Re: V groove on tablesaw

Before you give up on the router bit, maybe try with stock that is thicker than 3/4"? Run both edges with same face against the fence, and center V-groove as best you can. Multiple passes probably a good idea to get to full depth. Good tight feather boards a must. After both V-grooves cut, then...

Re: OUCH Spring cost for Maytag dishwasher

I had a similar looking spring on a Thermador dishwasher break, but it was close to one end and I was able to bend a new hook on it. Maybe you can find a free or low cost dishwasher on Craigslist, just for that part. Most of those springs are probably very similar. I too couldn't find a similar spri...

Re: Newbie, looking for a little info

To give a detailed history and summary of the various Shopsmith models, capabilities, etc. in a single post is practically impossible. Fortunately, many very knowledgeable Shopsmith Owners have undertaken that task and you can learn from their experience. At the top of the Maintenance and Repair For...

Re: Squealing Noise

My 1980 Mark V has "squealed" similarly in the past. Mine turned out to be a shot button bearing in the end of the control sheave. After replacing the bearing, I have tried to oil it more regularly every time I oil by liberally oiling the control sheave while in the drill press position. L...

Re: What is this?

505626, I think. Not sure it that is for the cast-rail only version, or the more versatile cast OR bolt on rail version. Shopsmith.com lists a Model 500 Front Table Extension under its SAWING accessories, but the link does not work. Typing in the part number above yields no results either, but I fou...

Re: Chisel sharpening guide owners manual needed

I found some info in the Illustrated Tips section. Probably not exactly the same as a true Owner's Manual, but I have found the info in these types of Tips to be very helpful when the Owner's Manual is not readily available. I stopped looking after finding Tip #19, but there may be others. https://w...

Shop Vac came back ... not sure if all products are back or not.
