Well you made me get out my hardly used 2 bearing quill to check for 'wobble'. No play is evident by just handling it. Closer examination by applying lateral pressure to the end of the splined shaft does create slight deflection which appears to be caused by play in the rear bearing(this was a surp...

I gotta ask! Who was the e-bay 'seller'? trainguytom He responded quickly to all my emails and seemed quite concerned that I was happy with my purchase. I am. The odd thing was that after reading all the docs I could find, watching numerous videos, searching forums, and googleing no one said any th...

Looks like I can put these tables together in a bunch of different ways.

I think the two bearing quill is OK. I pulled my old single bearing quill and the spindle wobbles lots worse and it doesn't cause me any problems.

When I hold the quill in my hand and spin it I can feel it wobble. That was what tipped me to look closer. Clamping it on the bench and spinning the shaft I can see it wobbling on the splined end . It's out enough that it may not be installable. The seller has agreed to take it back but want's me to...

I opted out on the deal because I did not want to see the seller put it back on the auction for another person to buy and be disappointed. I have bought lots of things from ebay and other on line auctions. I have purchased items from people in other cities that I contacted via dial up bulletin boar...
