My thought is to enlarge the hole using a cutoff wheel and then attach something like a roof soffit vent or similar to make it presentable. I think it might actually prove to be quite functional and provide some much needed ventilation and access to the bottom of the motor area for cleaning.

For me, it's a mix. If I have a clear picture in my head, then I tend to not work with paper plans and detailed, measured drawings. Much like the dice tower I built the other day. I saw a picture of one, grabbed some wood scraps, and was able to build it to my liking on the fly. No plans, no measur...

With my new sharp knives in place I can like I used to joint quite long boards. You have to stay focused on the outfeed table and keeping the wood flush to the table but i have jointed some very long 8'+ boards with no issues. Extended outfeed support would be a huge help but I am not going to even ...

Good point Pennview. I used a new engineers square yesterday that I got recently and it seemed to work pretty well.

Well a quick update. I have been working pretty steadily in the shop over the last 2 months reorganizing and making things more efficient to work in my smaller space. I recently acquired a Grizzly 18" bandsaw and a Delta 15" DC 380 planer. The addition of these two tools made it necessary ...

Just going through some older posts I missed and saw this one. I just finished making a crosscut sled for my TS 3650 today finally. I was very intimidated about making one of these because it really needs to be square and accurate to be useful. But I watched the Woodwhisperer video and that gave me ...

Ed, Which one are you looking for? I have a couple of them. Just recently took one of them apart and pressed the sharp pointy end out of the cup so that I could re-sharpen it as i had somehow ground it down on one side doing something that was probably not supported.........:D I would be happy to se...

WOW........What a thread! The Engineer's response was a bit over the top IMHO but he did have some good advice in the proper use of the new PowerPro. My personal experience with the bandsaw in both the power station and one of my Mark V's is that I have never experienced or noticed for that matter a...

I tested one out today and it works great (just like the original one). I was so excited I first installed it backwards. Lol It will be nice knowing it wont melt. They do look great HD. I will be in touch soon. My only concern would be that people understand the reason why they melted in the first ...
