Re: Bandsaw table leveling screw too long

This is the guide Carter sells for using narrow blades in the SS Band Saw. https://carterproducts.com/shopsmith-shs1 That guide works with thin stock of the kind usually cut with a jigsaw or scroll saw. There's no lower guide block to use with that blade guide, I don't know if anyone has tried it o...

Re: johnson dc motor and board help getting it to run

I don't understand why you post on a woodworking site for information about the DC motor in your physical fitness device. I don't even understand why your post was not banned. Several people have used DC treadmill motors to upgrade their Shopsmith. They could also be used to drive bandsaw or belt s...

I have leather glued to my jaws. I use it for gluing and put painter's tape over the leather to keep the glue off.

Re: SC Johnson Paste Wax

I melt wax in the oven set to warm. It takes a while but I don't have to watch. I checked the temperature before I did it the first time to be sure the temperature was below the flash point of the wax. I don't think I would try melting wax with solvent in it using this method.

Re: Shopsmith Christmas catalog

Pegas makes aftermarket blade clamps for at least the Jet, Excalibur, DeWalt, and Seyco. From what I understand you can replace either just the problem bottom clamp on the Jet or both. I have Pegas clamps on my EX21. I highly recommend them. You can buy them at https://www.artcraftersonline.com/. A...

Re: Shopsmith Christmas catalog

I just got a new old stock 2007 Excalibur scroll saw. From my research, the Jet, Pegas and Seyco are made in the same factory in Taiwan that used to make the Excalibur. That sounds right. Some of the features on the Seyco are different but the guts are pretty much the same. The Jet has some issues ...

Re: Shopsmith Christmas catalog

Seyco is also a good choice if you don't need to tilt to 45 degrees. Making bowls you might need this. Seyco's support is top-notch. I just got off the phone with Ray Seymore ( the owner ) getting a bit of tech support for a broken saw. They carry parts for their Seyco saw, Excalibur and Pegas. If y...
