JackShaftDrive.jpg Not electric but changes speed for lathe work. The motor three-speed pulley was moved from motor to jack shaft, and then add 4" split sheaves pulley on the jackshaft and a split sheaves on the motor. The motor and jackshaft were mounted on ¾" plywood and hinged at back....

I didn't see mention, but when you insert the cord through the hole in base ( from outside to inside the base) tie a knot in the cord to act as a strain relief and won't pull back out. I don't do much spindle turning any more, but when I did I found the SS listed ones ok. IMO You should get item A and C. They don't require any adapters to fit the SS.
Now if you plan to do bowl or vases, that is a whole new ball game.

tread mill motor question

I have a chance to get a lifestyle expanse 850 tread mill with motor, is this any good to use on shopsmith 10er? It is a sears, probably not the best.
