How accurate do the final dimensions need to be? The conical sanding disk might be an option for the long edges.

Yeah, it was just pure stupidity on my part. I was surfacing a piece of stock not using a push block and the tip of my finger got caught. Surprisingly, there was no pain until it came time for the lidocaine injections.

Here is a link to a thread showing what I did.
It has served me well and I really like it. Best part is I can roll it up next to my Shopsmith for transferring the (heavy) planer.

The only dado set I have ever used on my Shopsmith is an 8" set. Works fine.

I don't have that sticker on my Shopsmith mounted planer either but looking at the sticker, I have to ask: If I have a 10" wide piece of softwood and I want to take off 1/32" per pass, the table says the maximum feed rate is 7. Seven what? Feet per minute? And my feed rate dial only indica...

No rubbing or rattling. Just that change in harmonics. I don't know how long it has been doing this as I rarely run the headstock on slow with no attachments. Just noticed it while doing PM.

Is this a bad bearing?

Take a listen to this video. On about a 2 second frequency, the sound changes back and forth. This is on the "Slow" speed setting and the variation in sound goes away above the "D" speed setting. Nothing attached to the headstock. Is that a bad bearing? https://www.dropbox.com/s/...
