Stripping paint off all painted surfaces

Any words of advise before I start stripping the painted surfaces on my greenie? I was planning on using a spray citrus paint remover I got from Lowes that worked quite well on a polyurethaned door I used it on. It is neutralized with mineral spirits.

Bearing replacement on Drive Sleeve Assy. (part 56)

Has anyone had success replacing the two bearings on the drive sleeve assy? ShopSmith wants $100 for the entire assy. They do not offer just the bearings. I did a search for the bearing which is marked "3205 ND Made in USA" to determine $$$ but couldn't locate one that was a sealed bearing...

Crocus cloth substitute????

Nick's sawdust session 22 http://www.shopsmithacademy.com/SS_Archives/SS122/SS122_Shopsmith_Reborn_Pt2.htm discussed using it as the final step for preparing the tubes after scothbriting and 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. Can anyone recommed a substitute...

JPG - Thanks for the steps. Fortunately, I know to tread lightly when in unfamiliar areas and the ShopSmith is definately one of those areas. First thing I did was try to rotate the drill chuck by hand. It rotated about 15 degrees and came to a hard stop (metal on metal sound). Rotated it back about...

My First ShopSmith!! (1955 model 500)

Well, me being in this forum all started by having to figure out how I was going to drill a 1/4" hole through a 1" OD by 6" long dowel. All I had was a hand drill and bit. The entrance hole I knew was going to be easy. A little basic geometry and I knew I could get the center pretty d...
