Re: Power pro problems and no response from SS

I wished my problem was as simple. Still haven't heard back from the mother ship about the parts I shipped back to them over a month ago. I suspect their one repair guy is busy these days.

Re: Power pro problems and no response from SS

I suspect that the fan scored the motor shaft end while it was flopping around. I would try a flat file if you can get to the groove. Otherwise, a bearing puller might be needed. Have no idea the setscrew size, can you take the whole motor to the store?

I talked to a real person two different times. First said to send in the display and black box. Second said the repair guy is very busy and hasn't got a chance to look at my parts yet. I will await some kind of response.

Re: No power to MarkV w PP Upgrade

My PowerPro bit the dust a couple years ago. I installed it in 2010 and have turned almost a hundred bowls since. It just stopped in the middle of a bandsaw operation. There is a flicker of the backlight every 3 seconds or so, nothing else. No messages of any kind. I have taken it all apart looking ...

Re: Power pro problems and no response from SS

I would check to see if the fan/flywheel on the end of the motor is tight. Just remove the cover to check. Also, the speed sensor is behind the flywheel, which is held on by two screws that might have come loose. That might also cause the rpms to vary if the computer gets confused.

Re: 10ER speed changer repair

When I pass somebody is going to have a field day in my shop. I have 3 10ER's, two up and running, one as a lathe and one as a drill press, and they both have the speed changer. I have a 3rd speed changer to be used on the 3rd 10ER, which is rebuilt but not put back together yet. I also have a 520 w...

Re: Power Pro No power

Dusty, Yes, I checked and rechecked all connectors. I squeezed the flat connectors just to make sure they are tight. I sprayed all connections with contact spray. I blew all the dust out and cleaned the speed sensors. Since I'm getting a flash of light on the control panel display, I'm assuming I'm ...
