Sheave maintenance question

After a general cleaning & oiling of the sheaves, I did a couple of hours of projects on my 'new' used Mark V. The speed dial seemed to get stiffer during the projects so I tore the sheaves compleatly down and cleaned out the little bit of gunk that was there. I know it is recomended to use a co...

I've been using the 10" Woodcraft steel disk on my benchtop saw for a year and started using it on my 10e and Mark V this summer after getting them. It works well and doesnt seem to deflect. Also, the one I bought has a flat side and a slightly tapered side. Havent used the tapered side yet.

Can't find the serial number

I received a 1947 shopsmith from my wifes Aunt earlier this summer, all the parts were there, cleaned up nice, works great so I kinda bragged a little on the fact. The family went on a vacation to Texas for a few weeks and by the time I got back, somehow the magnetic properties of the old shopsmith ...

It was the name my great grandmother used, of the monster that lived under the stairs, to keep us kids from going down into the basement.
