You guys keep it up. My motivation is growing rapidly as a result of seeing all these fine furniture productions.
I've never had the nerve to tackle real furniture but I'm getting there.
Most of what I've built has been for the kids - they are much less critical.

Sorry for the romp into my musical past. I guess it really wasn't appropriate. It's just that I grew up on the Everly Brothers. Their music plays in my computer area almost all the time; if not the Everly Brothers, it's Country.

Left side table alignment
Are you certain that you need to have an adjustment? After viewing this on the Sawdust Session, I went to adjust my own because I have felt that I had something wrong. My alignments are sometimes found to be incorrect; I believe this to be after some Shopsmith relocations. What I found was that the ...

Quill feed handle
Yes, I have one. I have had it for many years and it hardly ever leaves the hook on the tool board where I store it. The only time I am inclined to use it is when I am setup to do a lot of work on the drill press. Otherwise I use the standard handle. I don't know if it was ever intended for anything...

Shop Noise Level
can be harmful. Do you know the typical noise level in your shop? Do you know how much a properly maintained Shopsmith should contribute to that noise level? Do you protect your ears from that noise level? You might if you knew what the safe levels were. You should, even if you don't know. The noise...

Left side table alignment
In the original documentation that came with my machine (late 1980s) the recommendation is to stack washers until you have the required "lift" to obtain alignment. They then go on to say "measure the height of the resulting stack of washers" and adjust the allen screw for that he...

New bandsaw owner
should have the appropriate manual before starting work. Unfortunately, the procedures and saftey instructions that you really should read BEFORE working on equipment that is new to you are not available on line. If you do not receive these documents with your bandsaw, they can be purchased direct f...

Headstock Rebuild
instructions on DVD by Jacob Anderson are very good for anyone who needs to tear down and rebuild their headstock. It contains a lot of valuable information that would help anyone to understand how the headstock works. I am very satisfied with the video. However, IMO it does very little, if anything...
