Re: 3D printed axial cyclone for dust separation
I'll try to watch those videos this evening -- they look interesting. But in the meantime, this general subject was brought up almost 10 years ago, by a guy who wanted to mount a cyclone sideways in the dust-collection compartment of an old Mark VII. Per his request, I tested my ordinary Dust Deput...

Re: US Government is About to Change Table Saws FOREVER!
US patents expire 20 years (or less, in certain cases) after their application date (not issuance date). Should SawStop's original patents not be expired by now? No doubt they have others, but those would almost certainly contain claims related to secondary/detail issues, which cannot extend the pr...

Re: Edge jointing cupping re-visited
The outfeed table obviously is immobile. I guess I'd set up the straight edge on the outfeed table and work on shimming the infeed table co planar. "We prefer to shim the outfeed table, because its adjustment range is very small, but if your jointer has a fixed outfeed table, you have no choice...

Re: US Government is About to Change Table Saws FOREVER!
"Safety" minded folks who 'think' everything can be made risk free are ignoring the purpose of those dangerous tools. They are also overlooking the necessary detail of the human operator being the usual cause as well as the victim of 'accidents'. 'Accidents' occur due to unanticipated eve...

Re: US Government is About to Change Table Saws FOREVER!
As for flipping the Shopsmith, has no one ever stalled the Shopsmith in table saw mode? Something will slip (belts) and the machine won't flip. As for how to make a blade brake work on the Shopsmith, we just need to think INSIDE the box. Rather than mounting the saw arbor directly to the headstock's...
