I'm not familiar with the guard on the 1981 vintage Shopsmith but on my 520 it is useful to raise the table all the way, then tilt. Then lower the table while extending quill.

I truly believe had he offered a more reasonable licensing cost, the PTI folks would have bought in to it. . He offered Ryobi 3% which would have jumped to 8% if all the PTI companies had taken a license. In your opinion, what would have been reasonable to ask. Then ask, why didn't the PTI companie...
