Re: US Government is About to Change Table Saws FOREVER!

To follow-up on my own post, it seems like some of the opposition to SawStop relates to their actions being perceived as unfair. An analogy or two may help. Business is very similar to sports or other games. In sports there is the rulebook and in business there is the law. As long as you adhere to ...

Re: US Government is About to Change Table Saws FOREVER!

I think we all understand that a few of you think SawStop should be punished and that the patent system is "bad" in this country. No! You're still mischaracterizing. No one is saying the entire patent system is bad. And no one is saying SawStop should be punished . Only that they should n...

Re: US Government is About to Change Table Saws FOREVER!

It seems to me, that some here object to the entire patent system entirely and/or to SawStop even existing. I have no intention of debating either of these because I don't understand this logic as they are in stark opposition to the ideals I believe this country were founded on. IF you truly believ...

Re: US Government is About to Change Table Saws FOREVER!

If we needed a confirmation of Sawstop's veracity (or lack thereof) in their concerns for woodworkers safety, here it is: https://www.sawstop.com/news/sawstop-to-dedicate-key-u-s-patent-to-the-public-upon-the-effective-date-of-a-rule-requiring-safety-technology-on-all-table-saws/ How generous of th...

Re: Cateract Surgery

Rather than drive at night and suffer with the glare I just go to bed. With that compensation I can say my cataract surgery was miraculous. I have problems with modern headlights and I haven't had cataract surgery. Current headlights are awful. I've been blinded by bright headlights at 2pm on a cle...

Re: Im happy I finally signed up

I'll mention another common pattern is a "new user" will reply to a very old thread with a post that is generic and only tenuously related to the topic. And again, once the post has been forgotten it will be edited to insert the spam link

I've no idea of numbers but it happens often enough to be notable, especially when their first post is especially generic.

Re: Im happy I finally signed up

Ok the pattern is this: a "new user" (probably a bot) signs up and makes a single post resembling the above. It's perfectly innocuous and gets forgotten. Some time later the bot comes back and edits the post to insert a spam link in an effort to game search engine results (the more links t...
