It is looking great.

I cannot tell from the picture if you covered the contact points, most indicated by the red arrows, between the base/outfeed table and the infeed table.
Thank you Russ, it turned out as good as I had hoped. I did remember you suggesting earlier in this thread that I wax those contact points, so I did tape them all up, including where the depth adjustment knob sits. When I first put the beds together and started turning that knob to adjust the depth it squeaked at that contact point. I removed the knob and waxed that groove, put it back together, and it now turns quietly and smoothly. I had already waxed both sides of the bed landing it rides on, but had forgotten the knob.

I’m almost done with it. I only need to wipe Penetrol on the beds and fence, sharpen, install, and align the knives, and do something with the Magna logo on the cutter guard (which I will leave for sometime later; does anyone know what color that logo should be? Was it a dark gray?) Oh, and wax the beds after removing the Penetrol from the bed and fence surfaces, as has been suggested.

Had a great time last night with MickeyD and his wife. He’s looking younger and lighter; retirement is working well for him.

Thanks for all you guys help with this project.

Below is a Model 620 Jointer I restored like yours. Note the Cutter Guard logo has the same paint color inside the logo with the raised part bare metal. That is how they came from the factory. Some owners paint the inside of the logo for contrast and I have seen that done in red paint. I went original when I did the one below. This is the same Cutter Guard used for the Model 4E Jointer but those Jointers were gray. The logo on the Cutter Guard changed in 1955 along with the Fence Lock Handle.

This Jointer Model 620 serial number 11458 shown above was one of the earliest 620 models made after the change from the Model 4E. It was made prior to April 1954. It has the lowest 620 serial number I have seen and the highest 4E S/N I have seen is 10974.

Ha! I think it was. :D

If you look at the photos at the beginning of this thread you can see it wasn't in too good of condition when I got it, and I found no pink on it anywhere. :)

I thought it might be bare metal, but when I was cleaning mine up it looked like there may have been a dark gray on it. It may have been aluminum oxidation coupled with grime, but it was very hard to remove, similar to the bonding of the old green paint. I ended up not taking it all off to the metal and then painted over it. My plan has been to return the logo to original by first asking for direction here and then removing the green and leaving at bare metal or painting it the original color.

"Pinky" was the 'intended' color scheme so as to entice Mrs. D to engage in woodworking. The jointer came along with the rest of the Greenie that was to become pinky.

In DarrenDD pictures above the first one has the raised part painted red. I have seen the inside of the logo painted red while the raised part is bare metal too. I am thinking of doing that to a Jig Saw Model A-34 for the Model 10E and 10ER I just restored. The second picture DarrenDD posted shows the second version of the Cutter Guard.
