Desalt 12” chop saw

Post by wrmnfzy »

Mine stopped while making cuts. I blew out all the dust and checked the brushes and seems ok. Anyone have any suggestions?

Look into it with a voltmeter to see where the voltage is failing.

I have a chop saw, not a Dewalt, but the first time I used it, it stopped too in the middle of a cut. Mine has an overload circuit breaker for the motor that tripped. Looking at some of the Dewalt manuals, they mention that depending on model, yours could have a circuit breaker, a fuse, or both that would stop it. Look at the manual for your model and see what they put on yours.

I checked manual and saw the circuit breaker mentioned, unfortunately mine doesn’t show one for it. I will try some of the other things and see what I can manage even though some of the things might be above my pay grade 🤪
