At the request of others I reorganized the first page to place the My Google Drive near the top so folks would not have to scroll to find it as I added new content and revised the descriptions.

There is valuable information on this page below the My Google Drive link that folks should read through.

November 29, 2019 under My Google Drive link find "Shopsmith Planer with a manual feed mechanism.pdf" in folder titled Planers (All 3)'

I am pursuing a machinist locally that will allow me to cobble together a manual feed mechanism using a combination of existing parts available from Shopsmith and openly available parts from other applications from McMaster Carr and other vendors.

Once I finish, I will post how it's done, where to find the parts, and information for you to to machine one for yourself if desired.

Kindest Regards,

Everett

1956 Shopsmith Woodworking Course lessons

Courtesy of Doug Smith in the Facebook Shopsmith Group, I was provided copies of 1956 Shopsmith Woodworking Courses lessons 3 - 10 written by Professor Benjamin W. Spaulding, Professor Emeritus Of Industrial Arts San Jose State College.

Lesson 3 of 10 #9304
Lesson 4 of 10 #9305
Lesson 5 of 10 #9306
Lesson 6 of 10 #9307
Lesson 7 of 10 #9308
Lesson 8 of 10 #9309
Lesson 9 of 10 #9310
Lesson 10 of 10 #9311

There are pictures of the Mark 5 on the front cover.

While there are no photos, there are extensive line-art drawings and text.

Two lessons were missing:
Lesson 1 of 10 #9302 ?
Lesson 2 of 10 #9303 ?

I seek those to complete the course set I am restoring and will publish. If anyone has those two I would like to obtain 300dpi color scans of them.

Doug also provided a Montgomery Ward 1950-51 Powr-Kraft Power Tool and Welding Catalog.

It has Shopsmith 10E with accessories on the last two pages and the back cover is machine photo with R. J. De Cristoforo adjusting the blade guard.

I will be restoring just the covers and last pages on it.

Thanks for your help and thanks to Doug for sharing. These are another piece of history.

Kindest Regards,

Everett

James,

I have just been gifted a set of all ten already in pdf format by Martin Thomas over in the Facebook Shopsmith Owners Group. They are very clean scans and thus far very much welcomed.

Doug got me started and Martin, seeing what I was working on has refocused my efforts. I will closely examine them to take the best quality forward.

Thank you for your comments, your friendship and for being one of my Shopsmith mentors.

UPDATE: Martin's PDF scans are of such quality that I will simply rename them to reflect his contribution to this project.

I must surmise that Martin's originals are not as yellowed, or his scanner is far superior to mine. These scans are excellent and need no further work.

I have reached out to him, as I am missing Lesson 9 in his bundle of PDF's. As soon as I receive that I will add the entire collection to My Google Drive for everyone.

Blessings,

Everett

New Folder Added - Patents

File Naming Conventions I used in My Google Drive Folder - Patents

I have used one of these - Bandsaw - in the Bandsaw folder in an extensive exploration of how the bandsaw tracking system was designed and intended to work.
It has extensively reworked drawings and actual photos included, is readable, reference-able, and zoom capable. No, I have no others scheduled to rework in this manner.... but one never says never.... the urge might strike me someday!
