Bandsaw aluminum table zero clearance insert

Post by BigWheelWade »

Hello, new to the Shopsmith, just picked up a 500 which reportedly already had the motor replaced once so hopefully has plenty of life left. I want a zero clearance insert for the bandsaw with the aluminum table. I asked customer service but they said they only carry the stock one, which I believe is 3 1/4. Has anyone found a source for these in ZC ? I would consider a plastic or equivalent, substitute to save time. If not, I guess I will begin my quest to replicate some ZC inserts made of aluminum. Thanks guys!

I made one out of wood for the jig saw . when I got the saw it didn't have a insert .if you can't do that then keep a eye on ebay or the Facebook group JMO

I use plastic from an old cutting board as material for jig/scroll/band saw inserts.
