10ER Under Bench Drawers

Post by rpd »

This was last weekends project.
Back in October our last tenant moved out and left a lot of stuff behind.
One of the things he left was a piece of solid laminated pine flat pack furniture that was falling apart. Four drawers and about desk height.
I took it apart to salvage the wood, It turned out that the reason it had failed is the bottom stretcher on the front was missing both the cam locks on one end.

Anyway, I decided to re-purpose the drawers to help organize my 10ER parts. :)

The drawers are the full depth of the bench, but about a foot short, so I added a box on the right end that holds the fence and miter gauge

The drawer bottoms are just thin hard board, so I added a brace in the center of each drawer and screwed the bottoms to them so they hopefully won't sag too much.

So far, so good. And I have two more drawers, so I can do the same on 10ER #3's bench when I get to it.
