Re: Craigslist find = New project 10ER
joebob80,
Bob answered the what is it and it's nice to see he found the paperwork for that.
As for your question 1. No, there is not anything on the 10ER that requires factory calibration. The only thing I don't completely dissemble is the motor for obvious reasons. It does get a good clean out, new power cords, switch and even bearings if needed plus a paint job. The rest gets dissembled down to the last set screw. The Speed Changer's Floating Pulley Assembly was listed in it's manual as needing to be factory set. You can set it yourself. So go ahead and take her apart to make her pretty again. Once you get your Model 10ER back together there will be alignments to do.
You said you were collecting Manuals you found online. I hope you have not been buying copies of any manuals at online auctions since they are available for free. Check under the Maintenance and Repair section for Shopsmith Large Format Drawings, Illustrations and More by Everett Davis. This will be one of the first three topics. In it you will find a wealth of information on the Shopsmith tools. Some are directly linked there and others are on “My Google Drive” with documents too large to be directly linked. Everett has become the Shopsmith historian by saving and restoring manuals and other documents. Under 10E & 10ER Magna are manuals and other information for the Model 10's. The restored Manual Magna 10ER restored will cover your Shopsmith 10ER.

Copied the instructions on how to use the saw, but not sure they will show up.
Had to reduce to get attached.

Thanks Russ, it's good to hear nothing needs to be calibrated because in the excitement I took everything apart already =). As for the manuals, I've been downloading them for free from several different websites including the ones you mentioned. I'm noticing slight variance in the manuals, so I'm downloading and reading everything.chapmanruss wrote:joebob80,

Re: Craigslist find = New project 10ER
Question 2 - Any suggestion on getting this set screw out? I sprayed Blaster lub on it yesterday and still not budging. Planning to heat it tomorrow.

Re: Craigslist find = New project 10ER
The Manuals differ over the time the Shopsmith Model 10E and 10ER were made from 1947 through 1953. Changes and Improvements were the reason. Some parts were the same on all Model 10's whereas others had several versions. The Headstock had the most versions I have found at 7. The Manual I suggested should be the closest one for your Model 10ER.
For removing the set screw try the suggestion from the link JPG provided. Do make sure to clean out the hole of any debris with a dental type pick as much as possible to get the Allen Wrench in as far as possible. Some set screws and attachments can be very stubborn. Even with the set screw out it may still take some work to get the Arbor off the Spindle.

Got it out! Letting the lubricant soak for 2 days did the trick.

I was debating what rust remover to use. Evapo-Rust it is, thanks!
