Bandsaw circular insert 3D print file

Post by Ash1562 »

Hi all,

Does anyone have or know someone who might have a file to create the circular insert for the bandsaw? If not, I'll create it and post it here for all to use.

thx

Hi all, attached is a photo of the 3D printed part. It's a snug fit so it won't jiggle around. I've also tried to share this through my Google drive so let me know if it works:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fjnfBf ... sp=sharing

if it does not, message me directly and I'll email it to you no problem. If you want/need this but don't have a 3D printer, I am happy to print it and mail it to you as well if you'll cover shipping + materials.

One note: the diameter is 63.5mm cuz I wanted a tight snug fit. I'd suggest backing off to 63mm if you want it to have some play

For zero clearance inserts I have purchased the Delta saw ones from here:
https://www.ptreeusa.com/bandsaw_inserts.html
3 for $8

Recently I spotted some here:
https://www.amazon.com/POWERTEC-71086-C ... C263FG68JE
They are 5 for $12.

Another place has these:
https://www.woodline.com/products/band- ... le-inserts
3 for $11

This one I can not say for sure will fit but aluminum and of course more expensive:
https://www.amazon.com/Table-Inserts-So ... B00AFJY5NY

The last one I got from shopsmith was on back order for a whole year so I had to branch out and find some replacement in the mean time. Yes a whole year!

Ash1562:
You're about 2 weeks too late for me.
I just purchase 3 3d inserts from someone on eBay.
They were white, I like your green one.

oh man what a bummer! I was waiting almost 10 days for new filament to print this out...the winter storms last week did not help shipping!

Well, should you need another or anything else 3D printed for your SS, let me know! Happy to help

Does anyone have a file for printing an insert for the Shopsmith bandsaw aluminum table? our local library has a Flash Forge 3D printer that I have used to print an insert for the Shopsmith jigsaw. I was very pleased with the results.

Lodgepole,

Are you looking to do something different for the Bandsaw Table Insert for Aluminum Table? It is different from the Insert for the Cast Iron Table in how it is held in. The Insert for the Cast Iron Table is a friction fit whereas the Insert for the Aluminum Table has clips to hold it in place. Both Inserts are still available new from Shopsmith and the Insert for the Aluminum Table is part number 516173. Without the clips and being a "drop in" Insert what would keep it in place?

Good points. I was just on a role with using a 3 D printer.
