Thank you Russ, it turned out as good as I had hoped. I did remember you suggesting earlier in this thread that I wax those contact points, so I did tape them all up, including where the depth adjustment knob sits. When I first put the beds together and started turning that knob to adjust the depth it squeaked at that contact point. I removed the knob and waxed that groove, put it back together, and it now turns quietly and smoothly. I had already waxed both sides of the bed landing it rides on, but had forgotten the knob.chapmanruss wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 12:33 pm Marc,
It is looking great.
I cannot tell from the picture if you covered the contact points, most indicated by the red arrows, between the base/outfeed table and the infeed table.
I’m almost done with it. I only need to wipe Penetrol on the beds and fence, sharpen, install, and align the knives, and do something with the Magna logo on the cutter guard (which I will leave for sometime later; does anyone know what color that logo should be? Was it a dark gray?) Oh, and wax the beds after removing the Penetrol from the bed and fence surfaces, as has been suggested.
Had a great time last night with MickeyD and his wife. He’s looking younger and lighter; retirement is working well for him.
Thanks for all you guys help with this project.
