Made progress yesterday. It is all finished except for the cap.

First, my condolences Paul. I have lost both my parents now and know what you are going through. It softens with time, never goes away, but softens. What a beautiful thought and tradition using hand made Urns.

They are in a better place than us. Your embedded crosses brought a tear. Very nice touch

I love your as usual exceptional work. Your father would be proud.

Let me add my condolences. The urn turned out (pun intended) beautifully.
Gale's Law: The bigger the woodworking project, the less the mistakes show in any photo taken far enough away to show the entire project!

My condolences also. It is beautiful. As someone who has only turned when I first got my SS in the 80s to see what it was like I have a novice question. Why are some blanks octagonal and others round.

The round ones are one piece. The octagonal rings are glued up from segments.

Carrying on the tradition is great. A fine job on the urn, beautiful!!!! I just hope all the accolades here helps a bit.

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)
