And Another Successful Bookmatch from the SS Bandsaw

Post by nuhobby »

I got my Shopsmith Bandsaw a little over 10 years ago, and it has served me so well.

Here's a recent project where all sides (except the bottom plywood) are resawn & bookmatched lumber from my bandsaw. Black Oak on the sides, Cypress on the top.

Very nice job. The Shopsmith Bandsaw is quite capable. I got mine about 1993. Still going strong. However, I haven't done much in the way of bookmatching. Bout time I started.

Gloomy Day? Get thee to the Bandsaw

I needed a lift today, so I've attacked a pile of wood to resaw. Most of this is nearly quartersawn in orientation now, so I'll enjoy making some boxes down the line. These are all straight off the SS bandsaw, with no planing yet. Some cherry, sassafras, and reclaimed pine. Nice tight grain on the pine especially.
