Indexing Head

Post by lalkie01 »

I am looking at building an indexing head for my Shopsmith. Has anyone done this? I wasn't able to find anything useful with a search. Thanks Larry

Search for "Index wheel" or "index jig" :)

Ed (reible) has a few threads on this topic.
Here is a link to one for locking the spindle.

Great info in that thread, including links to inexpensive plastic and metal indexing wheels.

I tend to think of indexing for drilling/milling operations, for woodworking purposes using those wheels on a basic rotating table should work also.

Rather than buying an indexing disk, you could use this method of printing them with whatever division you need.

Hi,

My view on this was that I would be happy with relatively few stops in an Indexing device.
Here was what I did:

Happy tinkering!
