Here is how my Jointer sits on the Mounting Base. Although it is hard to see in the picture the Dust Chute does barely touch the base's mounting tab. A wood mounting base can be made using holes for the Mounting Tubes as long as clearance for the dust chute is made.

Since you asked for it I finally took pictures of my storage cabinet. It is on wheels so it can move around with the Mark V 520 or Mark 7. It keeps a majority of the SPT's and attachments close at hand.

The ends are framed in pegboard which allowed me to change the arrangement of the accessories as needed. It was made from wood I already had left over from other projects. The table storage rack on the back is patterned after the one available for purchase. There are four 27" tubes and the Table Support Leg at the top of the rack. The brackets are cut out of 3/4" wood and attached to a 2 x 4 mounted to the back of the cabinet. 2 threaded inserts near the middle of the 2 x 4 hold the lock knobs for the center floating tables or main table while stored on the rack. There is not clearance for the knobs to remain in place next to the 2 x 4 while stored.

I made a little dolly for my jointer, so that I can easily tuck it away beneath a workbench for storage. The casters were salvaged from a broken office chair.
Re: DIY Mounting Base?
I like that design, Dennis! I use dollies for all my SPTs but they aren't that elegant!
Gale's Law: The bigger the woodworking project, the less the mistakes show in any photo taken far enough away to show the entire project!

Scrap 2x4? They look far too good to be called scrap. Clear, straight grain . . .
