melting pot vessel

Post by rdgrnstd »

Melting pot vases are very unusual. I'm trying to figure out how to make one.
Are these the steps:
turn to the shape you want. then saw rings off with a bandsaw, sand the outside edges of each ring and place them back in a stack.
Then turn the inside smooth.
Would like to know the real steps

Now I'm going to have to look this up. When I hear melting pot vases I picture glass not wood.....

That was a new one on me, too. I think I found what you’re looking for over at LumberJocks.com, and it appears that you nailed the build process. Here’s the link that describes it: https://www.lumberjocks.com/projects/94952

And here’s a pic of the guy’s second “melting pot”. The name makes perfect sense after seeing this one!
