Fantastic!
After you finish off your window, my own home office is in dire need of a makeover!

Re: built in office bookshelf
RF Guy,
[It is all personal preference. One question, how often are the blinds pulled up or are they down/closed most of the time? Personally I like combining textures for contrast, e.g. fabric with wood, metal with wood, stone with metal or wood, etc., etc. If it were me I would probably keep the blinds and put either drapes over them (if blinds stay closed more often), or a cornice up top (if blinds stay open more often). Either way, I would do an Earth tone...I am partial to reds so I would like a burgundy color cornice/drapes with the wood color you have. Just my personal preference though.
]
They are open often if I'm not doing anything on the computer (which is not often) and the sun is shinning.

Simply gorgeous. Beautiful classic styling. Impressive. I'm jealous.

Nice indeed . Had you thought about any led lights to highlight the book case ? a couple across the top between the ceiling would really set it off .

It'll all look fine once it's painted.
Just kidding. Awesome.

The tour guide at the Gamble House in Pasadena told us of how the famous house was almost sold. The scion Gamble was getting old and put the house on the market. They reached a deal with a young couple. As the couple was leaving after shaking hands on the deal, the old lady heard the wife say, "But it's so dark in there."garys wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 5:55 pmLast I heard, painting hardwood is a criminal offense.davebodner wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 2:05 pm It'll all look fine once it's painted.

The husband said, "It'll look fine once it's painted."
The old lady immediately canceled the sale and gave the house to Cal Tech, instead.
I don't necessarily believe the story; it's too good. But, yeah, painting hardwood should be a criminal offense.
