Fence straddler

Post by HopefulSSer »

While I was sorting out the problem with my miter gauge I made a LOT of crosscuts. Since I had all these pieces I decided to make a fence straddler (or at least what I think this is what a fence straddler is.... Hopefully will be useful whatever you call it....)

Bad lighting ;) it's just plain unfinished pine under 2700K LED bulbs

That said I got a nice orangish color on another project from a 50/50 mixture of boiled linseed oil and something I don't recall at the moment. I'll look in the shop tomorrow and see if I can recreate what I did! (Maybe turps?)

It was 50/50 BLO and mineral spirits on the other project. Though I've also found Waterlox tung oil gives a nice color as well.
