3/4” Blade on Shopsmith Bandsaw?

Post by Meng88 »

I found a local saw shop that makes blades. But they don’t make 5/8” blades. I need to replace my resale blade and was wondering…has anyone tried a 3/4” on a shopsmith bandsaw?

I don't think that is recommended. A 3/4" blade may hang off the wheel which is not recommended. I have done a limited amount of re-sawing with the 1/2" blade with success.

I agree with Bill. Using a 3/4" Blade would have it hanging over the front edge of the tires/wheels and probably not a good idea. I have used 1/2" Blades for resawing too and it worked fine.

Years ago I had a 5/8" blade on my bandsaw. Right now the widest one I have is a 1/2". I have not tried anything wider than the 5/8" one.
