Chuck:

Glad we don't have to worry about sandstorms up here, but then again, in a month or so we will be having a lot of "White Stuff" blowing around. Thankfully it dosen't have the same abrasive effect on tools or lungs!.

Take care.

Thanks Dusty - Thanks John -

First had to wash down the driveway and porches. Made lots of mud, but at least it is compartmentalized and easy to pick up after it dries. That took all morning.

Then into the shop. Didn't like that mess, vacuumed up a lot with the Sears shop vac. Then worried about the A/C. Didn't need it, but just knew I'd better do something with it before I forgot about the storm and started it up next spring. So covered the SS tools with plastic tarps and started it up, then quickly ran out of the shop, leaving the door open. The Roof cyclone and the open door did the trick to get rid of the fine dust in about 10 minutes. Then to vacuuming again! Got to be supper time. A little more vacuuming tomorrow.

Couldn't help it. Started thinking about the similarities and differences between sand storms and blizzards.

They both make drifts. Snow gets deeper.
Sand doesn't melt away - snow does. Both can be washed away if it is warm enough for the snow. Both can make a mess when washed.
Snow has snow fleas - Sand has a virus that causes desert fever. The fleas don't bite - the virus can be serious.
It is a lot warmer when a sand storm hits!

Probably would prefer the snow, if it just wasn't so darned cold!
