CL score includes a mystery item.

Post by kablerj »

This came with a bunch of SS stuff I picked up off CL yesterday. I assume this is used in dust collection, but how is it used?

The fellow had all this plus a 510 with a lot of stuff missing for $1000. I went with the idea of talking him into selling me the power station and dust collector. When I arrived, he informed me that he tried to test the 510 and it was smoking and only one shaft was turning. He asked if I would go $300 on the rest of the stuff. I looked thoughtful for a second and then reluctantly agreed. :)

My guess it's for hand sanding things on top of it.

I have never used a wood lathe, so I am not sure what kind or amount of dust is created. Would it be useful to lay this on the way tubes under you lathe work?

My guess is a downdraft table for sanding by hand or with a palm sander.

Brian is correct. It's a down draft table. Nice score on all the stuff. The thickness planer, alone, usually brings more than you paid for the whole catch!

No. That thickness planer is a real ham. He snuck into the pic when I wasn't looking. :)

Hmmmm. It hid behind the DC.

P.S. What did the po do with the 510?

Says he's going to fix it, and sell it. Not likely. I told him to call me before he pays someone to haul it away. I'll do it for free.
