Baskets

Post by BlackieSmith »

Here are a pair I made back in the summer. Fun projects for a beginner like me.

I ordered the patterns online from the Winfield Collection I think. A book by Monroe Dutcher. Just glue up the boards and apply the pattern, cut and sand the weavers and assemble. An easy project with good results. The two I posted are red oak and walnut. Here is a video I found that explains the basics.

Those look fantastic -- I wish I had seen them before my wife spent a small fortune on Longaberger baskets!

But I'm still afraid to show her your pics. (The honey-do list is already way too long.)

I have a few sets of those 3 caster furniture dollies. A lot of old timers always called them "stove & refrigerator dollies". Most of mine show bad signs of past overloading and abuse. They probably got borrowed a lot...
"Borrowers" are a whole other "basket" :) of worms.
