Thank you all for your kind words. Despite the flaws (which non-woodworkers likely won’t even notice), I am proud of how it’s come out. I’ll take a photo with the flag once it’s in place.

This has been an enjoyable project, and I learned a few things.

I delivered the display case to my mother-in-law today and she loved it. I discovered that she had not realized how important it was to her to have the flag honorably displayed. Here are the photos of the case completed, with an inscribed brass plaque on the back panel, and her husband’s flag inside.

Marc, that looks fantastic.

To have your spouse’s flag so beautifully displayed in a case that was handmade by a loved one is truly special.

Absolutely stunning.

I have my grandfather's flag from his funeral. Based on your case I think I need to make one!

Very nice project, indeed!
Gale's Law: The bigger the woodworking project, the less the mistakes show in any photo taken far enough away to show the entire project!
