I keep thinking others are getting this confused, but maybe it's me. Doesn't he need 67.5 degrees, not 22.5?

Edit - Never mind, it's more a question of point of reference. But, the SS Miter Gauge won't go to 22.5 degrees. Or to the angle that I envision he needs for the miter for this triangle.

Well, then, set it to 22.5 degrees, attach an auxiliary fences and sandy yourself to perfection!

Yes, I understand. I edited my earlier post, but we crossed messages. My point is that the MiterSet at 22.5 sets the SS Miter Gauge to what it calls 67.5. But the MiterSet does not go to 67.5 and the SS Miter Gauge does not go to 22.5. So setting the extremely acute angle needed for this operation is what I'm asking.

Drawing an angle is one thing. Cutting an angle with precision and repeatability is another.

Thank you all for the suggestions and geometry discussion, it has been helpful to this new woodworker. When I offered to make this “simple” display case I had no idea that it was not so simple. But your discussions brought me back 45 years to my 10th grade geometry class, which I loved.

This evening I cut a few ~10” lengths of rough 1 x 4 pine stock that I’ve had for years, so I could test the Tenon Master and table angles. My tenon master seems to be very solid and true. First I put in the dado insert in the table so I could get the blade close to the tenon master, which will all over me to get the knife edge that’s needed for this joint. I put the table at 22-1/2 degrees, and then made a few cuts to get the blade depth right. The photo below is what I ended up with. Although it may not look it in that photo, the the joint is tight, well aligned, and the outside angle is 45 degrees. I will now do the same test with some freshly milled maple scrap pieces I have, to make sure it’s close to perfect. Then the next step is to work on the prototype. If the angles need some work I plan on doing the adjustment with the conical disk sander. Any more suggestions are welcome; mind still open, and still learning.

Very true , I am thinking if you can draw or transfer the markings on paper drawing or transferring it on to a piece of wood should be second nature , once the angle is defined set up should be fairly easy . I like where this is going and the table tilt looks like a great move .
