An early 10e for free in Camarillo, which is near the coast north of L.A., almost to Ventura.

Pretty good deal on a 510 here for $500: https://boston.craigslist.org/nwb/tls/d ... 26249.html
Has double tilt and comes with a speed reducer and mortising tool, plus a joiner and jigsaw. Ad says used primarily as a drill press, that can be a good thing since the headstock doesn't inhale as much dust that way.

This one has been on craigslist and Facebook for weeks since early November as I recall. The photos are terrible. I've been considering taking a look and possibly making an offer.

What do you think I should offer?

In my area I'd say $200 - $300. Where I would put it in that range would depend mostly on how the headstock ran. The market is pretty soft for Model 500 and older, in this case quite a bit older. But best I can tell from those pics it looks fairly complete and in relatively good unrestored condition.

It's gone now. So I don't have to decide. I was afraid that might happen if I posted it here. :)

Maybe the seller either got reminded to remove it or did not like DLB's suggested $$$.

What was the asking $$$?

Maybe the ad just expired. Re-posted a couple of hours ago: https://tallahassee.craigslist.org/tls/ ... 60444.html

JPG makes a good point. I won't even go look at a machine if I think the price is unrealistic for what the seller has. "Would cost $7000 new..." is a nogo for me. There's a guy in Austin selling an early 510 for $5200, my first question would be if he added too many zeroes. Doubt that would go well... But there are way more machines available around here.
