Attempted Break-In
A couple of months ago I noticed a homeless guy in the neighborhood probably looking for a handout. He was small, scrawny and underweight. He was also shy and not at all friendly. After about a week, seeing him almost everyday I treated him to breakfast one morning. It didn’t take him long to learn there is such a thing as a free lunch and he started showing up every morning and evening for a bite to eat. I must say he put on some weight and looked much healthier.
We were gone for just over a week and when we returned there had been an attempted break in. From signs the culprit was obviously the freeloader who showed up for breakfast of dinner, found no one home and probably after two or three days of this, attempted to break in and get his free lunch. Isn’t it amazing how soon someone develops an entitlement attitude?
Although unsuccessful, had he succeeded it would have been disappointing but understandable. After all, once you start handouts to those who are capable of working for a living it becomes a way of life and perhaps this freeloader didn’t know what else to do. Perhaps I was at fault for creating a dependent freeloader. However, it should be noted that the body mass of the attempted burglar is about double of other homeless ones like him just a few blocks away. I’ll bet if he has registered to vote he will vote for Bernie.

Re: Attempted Break-In
I doubt the squirrel is homeless but if they can get to it they will eat it. When the feeder went dry he was looking for more.db5 wrote:A couple of months ago I noticed a homeless guy in the neighborhood probably looking for a handout. He was small, scrawny and underweight. The Greatness officially starts
Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them.

OK, (sorry to get too political here) if the
choice is down to Bern, or Hill, versus "the
donald," which is it going to be?
Sorry, but I see no winner there, and only
ONE loser. America!

10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.
Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.

Re: Attempted Break-In
About 100,000 of his cousins live here. The homeless problem can be improved somewhat with liberal servings of rat poison at the homeless food pantries.
Re: Attempted Break-In
Rats with fuzzy tails. Nevertheless, we used to like to watch their antics and they often provided a good meal for us.
There are none where we live, now. Can't say that they are missed as we still have plenty of rodents to go around. But the Rattlesnake and Gopher snakes to keep the population in check.
Well, now that I think of it, I kinda do miss a fall meal of fried squirrel, gravy , taters and corn.
