Would you please edit your post to include a brief description of what this video is about. It will help us know what is in the video without having to spend time watching it, and is beneficial when we are looking for videos on a specific subject, especially when doing searches of the forum.

He said the table was too big for what he was doing, Didn't understand his reasoning myself. :)

If the table was too big (which is like being too rich or too good looking), he could have unbolted it and mounted his new table (board) on the trunnions.

I do like the idea of mortising this way but it's going to be limited to small stock. Usually a tenon goes on the end of long narrow boards like that unless you're joining them end to end.

Seems like a waste of a perfectly good Shopsmith to make it a dedicated slot mortiser only when it can do a lot more. Surprised no one commented on the guy in the video who said "can use as a tablesaw which is terrifying and I refuse to do it". A bit harsh, no???
