The Shopsmith Mark V Model 500 front table extension is one of those little add-on gadgets that brings so much more to the party than first meets the eye. In this video, we are in my buddy Isaac's shop getting his "new to him" Shopsmith Mark V Model 500 ready for action after years in storage.

A couple of somewhat obscure details are:

There are two versions. The early version works with the original cast in table rail(and the narrow auxillary table).

The later version can be adjusted to work with either rail version.

After seeing the EZtension in Fine Woodworking magazine I was intrigued, but also curious to know if it would work with the unique Shopsmith bandsaw. In this video I show what I learned and run through some of the cool features that make the Shopsmith bandsaw so special.

Just to follow-up on the EZtension gauge video, I continue to work with the manufacturer and they are sending me a new setting tool that should be calibrated for use with the Shopsmith bandsaw. I’ll be sure to report back. Scott

Your Shopsmith multi-purpose tool came with a couple stop collars (tube collars) that can be used for far more than what you may know. In this video, I run you through the handiest non-standard uses I have for them in my shop. There's nothing groundbreaking here, but if it's new to you, this chould come on handy. Scott
Dang it! I called it a 510!
