Introduction and my Shopsmith Shop

Post by P89DC »

Good morning. I've been a Shopsmith owner since August of 1986. I won my 510, jointer and bandsaw through a company sponsored "Quality Circle". My team save the company ~$10million and they awarded points which we could use to order from a catalog.

in 2013 I moved from the not-so-great-state-of-Ill to Colorado but it took a few years to get situated in a house so I could rebuild my workshop. Bought something 1.5 years ago and the garage conversion finally made it on the to-do list. My garage was open studs on three walls so the first task was take down all the nails and shelves from 60 years of hanging crap up. Then insulate/vapor barrier, drywall, texture and paint.

Now I'm in the actual shop making phase. The jointer, bandsaw, sander and jigsaw are on a shelf, the SS fits underneath and it's time to hand all the saw blades, sanding discs, lathe tools etc on the wall.
