The Owners Manuals have less pages with the parts drawings and lists being separate and the removal of the "Catalog" pages. The Spare Parts lists with drawings are the 4 pages that the manual had. We will probably see more spare parts lists than manuals for the time period of 1957 to 1973, since the main change for the manual from the first one without the spare parts lists, Magna Power Tool Corporation Manual Copyright 1957 Cat. No. EM 9100-B 4:57, to the first Shopsmith Inc. manual was the name changes. Magna PTC to Yuba to Magna AM to Shopsmith Inc. If there is not another one we don't know about before it the 8th edition should be a Yuba Manual from 1958. There very well may be two editions for the Magna American period also with the part number change in early 1964. A Magna American Manual with the new six digit part numbers may be hard to find since the change occurred shortly before the Mark 5 went out of production.

I may have some stuff of interest. I recently purchased a Dealers Book from 1957. I have been scanning it and will start a new thread sometime today concerning some of the more interesting pages I have scanned so far. Anyway, after reading this thread I looked in the Manuals chapter and found the Mark 5 Manual Cat. No. EM 9100-B 4:57. Also in the manuals chapter are manuals for the Jigsaw, 4" Jointer, 11" Bandsaw, 6" Belt Sander, Magna Sprayer and the Magna 9" Saw.
Shopsmith 10E S/N 5804 restored.
Shopsmith 10ER S/N R39267; purchased 10-10-50 in San Francisco.

With JPG's manual added to the list below this is the current list as we know it.

Mark 5 Manual Copyright 1954 1st Edition Cat. No. EM – 9100 - M5 - 3:54* Magna Eng.
Mark 5 Manual Copyright 1954 2nd Edition Cat. No. EM – 9100 - M5 - 7-54*1 Magna Eng.
Mark 5 Manual Copyright 1954 3rd Edition Cat. No. EM – 9100 - M5 - 4/55* Magna Eng.
Mark 5 Manual Copyright 1954 4th Edition Cat. No. EM 9100-A-M5-8-55*1 Magna Eng.
Mark 5 Manual Copyright 1955 5th Edition Cat. No. EM 9100-10:55* Magna PTC

Mark 5 Manual Copyright 1955 7th Edition Cat. No. EM 9100-A--10:56* Magna PTC
Mark 5 Manual Copyright 1957 8th Edition Cat. No. EM 9100-B 4:57* Magna PTC

Shopsmith Mark 5 Spare Parts List 9142A – 9/58 JSS* Yuba
Mark 5 Manual Copyright 1957 10th Edition Cat. No. EM 9100-C 3/59* Yuba
Shopsmith Mark 5 Spare Parts List 9142A – 3/59 JSS* Yuba
Mark 5 Manual Copyright 1957 11th Edition Cat. No. EM 9100-C 1/62*1 Magna American

Mark 5 Manual Copyright 1957 13th Edition Bulletin No. 504286 1/73* Shopsmith Inc.
Shopsmith Mark V Spare Parts List Bulletin 504287-772 Copyright 1958* Shopsmith Inc.
Shopsmith Mark V Spare Parts List Bulletin 504287 – 3/74* Shopsmith Inc.
Supplement to the Mark V Parts List Supplement to Bulletin 504287 – 4/74* Shopsmith Inc.
Mark 5 Manual no Copyright ? Edition Bulletin No. 504286 6/76* Shopsmith Inc.

* I have original copies of these Manuals
*1 2nd Edition provided by Wiley Wells, 4th Edition provided by Ron Dyck, 11th Edition provided by JPG

Gaps in the list above are for editions believed to be missing from this list. At a minimum there is 1 missing manual per gap. There may be additional Manuals not accounted for.

Newer editions of the manuals were mostly a result of changes to parts on the machine. Most of the setup and operation information, including the pictures, remained the same through the first Shopsmith Inc. manual. With the Magna Power Tool Corporation Manual Copyright 1957 Cat. No. EM 9100-B 4:57 the Parts lists with Drawings and accessories lists were no longer included in the manual but came separate. The manuals no longer required new editions because of part changes. Known Spare Parts Lists are included above.

Anyone with a Manual or Spare Parts List for the Mark 5 from 1954 to 1976 not listed here is encouraged to add their information to this project.

FWIW I included the parts list that came with my goldie with the manual upload.

It appears to be a different version than those listed above.

Thank you JPG, I have added it to the list. The parts lists with drawings from that time period will be interesting with the change from the Gilmer to the Poly V drive and the motor change.

JPG,
Sorry for not being clear. I added your Parts List to the list of Manuals which now includes Parts Lists for the early Mark 5's. I didn't re-post the list yet with the new addition. Starting with the Copyright 1957 Manuals not having the Parts Lists with drawings in the Manual it takes these two documents make a complete set of instructions and machine parts, the information Everett is trying to document for all early Mark 5's as changes occured.
