Movie on TV

Post by db5 »

A movie was on yesterday, "Run Silent, Run Deep" staring Clark Gable. I asked my wife if she had seen it and what it was about.

She said it was a stinker, about a toilet overflowing for two hours.

I preferred the book to the movie.

She is absolutely wrong, it is great movie, of course I may be a little on the partial side since I am retired Navy..lol..and I love any movie Clark Gable is in...I am also a big big fan of Burt Lancaster not to mention first movie for Don Rickles who played it straight if you can believe that...trust me, watch it, a very good movie if you like those old movies, which I do, back when actors actually acted...

addon: I have probably seen this movie 20 or 30 times, not sure exactly, but I will say I'll watch it every time it comes on when I see it. There is only a few movies that I'll do that with, this is one of them..

The fact that you two disagree with one another DOES NOT make her "wrong". So, you have a difference of opinion about the movie.

I never said the movie was bad just that I prefer the book. The book contains more details that was not in the movie. I am retired Navy as well, with a lot of it doing submarine repair.

There are a few series on netflix that are pretty good

Longmire about a sheriff office in Montana

Heartland about a horse farm in Alberta

Hell on wheels about the railroad moving west in the 1800

The "she" in "she was wrong" was referring to DB5's wife, not Thunderbirdbat.

Yes "she" was expressing an opinion, but IMO, a largely unjustified one along with an incorrect description.

I thought DB5's original post was intended as a joke; and maybe something he read as opposed to something his wife said....
