Dwight L. Lawrence
Master Sergeant, USAF
Loadmaster
Retired 1970
Korean & Vietnam vet

Yesterday we laid to rest my Father-in-law.
I'm prevlidged & honored to have had him as a friend, fellow airman, hunting companion & fellow prospector.

The last couple years he was living with my wife and I so we could take care of him and my Mother-in-law due to her parkensons with dementia and his eventual dementia as well, which was what finally did him in. He was a fan of the shopsmith and enjoyed watching me turn or just build a box or scroll saw project. Years ago he asked me to make his urn. We had a few conversations on what it would be but he always said "Just a simple box, I'll leave the rest up to you".

I'm going to miss the trips to the Barber shop, the dump runs and our swapping of military adventures during long road trips that nobody else will ever hear the most.

This was the box I made for a true hero.

If I was a modern, techno-savvy person, I’d be posting a meme of a Serviceman, standing at attention. Nice job!

There is little more I can add to what has already been said except THANK YOU and your father-in-law for your service. That is something all who have served in our Military will never hear enough of.
