Special request for prayers

Post by reible »

Hi,

Our Daughter's husband's father has had a hard time of it the last while. His name is Jeff and to make a long story shorter his lungs have failed. He was put on the transplant list but has gone down hill to the point that they had to induce a coma to keep him alive a little shorter then a month ago.

No donors have matched his needs and it appears that choices will have to be made tomorrow, Jan 7th. So I ask for wisdom for all parties involved to make the correct decisions and at the right time. Of course a miracle would be nice.

He has been involved with our grandchildren and especially our grandson who is taking this hard so perhaps an extra prayer for Shawn Edward would be nice.

Thank you.

I will say a prayer that all concerned find wisdom, peace and acceptance. I pray the best for all in this difficult moment.

Well the news is not good. They have pulled him from the transplant list and to get back on he will have to be awake and go through some physical therapy.

More issues are appearing from other infections and issues due to the coma they have him in, so it hard to know if he can even survive waking up.

Right now it appears any chance will have to be to wake him which they will attempt starting Wed.

Then next week they will see how things are going if he is still with us.

I think my daughter has summarized how we all feel "... it’s has been horrific to watch someone who has always appeared so big and tough be so frail and ill."

So if you can find it in your heart to continue prayers we would appreciate it.

I wish I had more to offer. I have prayed to the Lord, for your family members.

I'm sad to report that things have not improved with Jeff's situation and in fact gone the other way. It was a long shot at best with the difficulties he had added to his already serious condition.

The family has decided that it is best to let him go and perhaps do some good for others through the gift of life organ donations program.

I want to once again thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask that if you can again add the family to your prayers as all life support will be ended at 11:00 AM Saturday (EST).
