Free Woodworking Book: The Anarchist’s Workbench

Post by RFGuy »

This book isn't released yet, but the author (Christopher Schwarz) intends to make the electronic version of it free to all woodworkers. I believe it will be released sometime this summer so check out https://lostartpress.com/ later if you want a free copy. The blog post below has more information about the book. If you want to support the author you can purchase a paper copy instead.

I saw that,

I think I will just download this one,
I have a workbench that I made in the Paul Sellers design, but I do enjoy Chris Schwarz writing style and have hard copies of the other two "Anarchist" books. :)

I also have the Ingenious Mechanicks book about the Roman workbenches, etc. At the end I quite enjoyed the read and the historical journey. I didn't build such a bench but I was more inspired to use other workholding forms and not always a bench vise.

AWB is a very interesting read! Chris is a down to earth individual who communicates that grounding in everything of his I have read.

This design is non pretentious and practical for building. Also A short course in simple effective joinery.

I would say well done, but WTH am I to say that to him!
