Scott,

Thanks. Yeah, I saw that video also thanks to you. I don't know, for me, the cordless drill and wire tie method looks a little tedious but I grant that it should also be a quick method. You don't know until you try something, but I still think I like Stanton's method best. The wheel would already be removed for me to clean it. I can drill a couple of holes in a 2x4 pretty quick and as long as I have dowels on hand and some tubing to make a bushing I think I can do it in much less than 2 hours though some disagree! What I like about Stanton's method is it looks easy and effortless to make several revolutions which should help to even out the urethane tires so that one area isn't overstretched. I guess you can do similar with the drill by making several passes after removing the wire ties. If you try either of these methods let us know what you think of them.
;)

The Shopsmith Strip Sander is one of those tools that at first glance just doesn't seem worth the money, but trust me, all you have to do is use it and you'll fall in love.

Also, in this video, I announce a major change in the future of "Stumped Q&A" videos. Get the details here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tlv4H...

Shopsmith 4" Jointer Blade Replacement & Alignment

Installing and aligning the knives on a jointer can be a challenge, but the folks who invented the Shopsmith jointer were thinking of the DIY'er when they created it back in the 1950s. And the great news is this tool just got better and better from there. In this video, I'll walk through the process of removing and installing knives in the Shopsmith jointer, and touch on the need to shift the blades to compensate for knicks. And yes, I would rather have been using my aluminum rule, but it has gone AWOL.

STUMPED? Q&A from "Jointer Rabbets" vid and an ESSENTIAL DIY Jointer Auxiliary Fence Extension

Why haven't you done this already? I used a piece of 18mm Baltic Birch plywood but I have used melamine board and even countertop sink cut-outs to make this essential jointer add-on in the past. The most important thing is that the stock needs to be straight and flat.
