Often it much larger then I need and if you are just getting into this sort of top the $250 is a lot to pay since you still need a lot of the clamping hardware and you could spend several more hundred getting all of that. I've already done that and I'm pretty happy with what it allows me to do.

I have thought several times about making a smaller version but I have more then enough to keep me busy so it just hasn't happened. Recently I noticed they have introduced a 20" x 26" version. What's more it is currently on sale for $30 off (20%). Pretty sure one is going to find a way into my shop.

With this new smaller size I can take advantage of my smaller stand as seen here:

I don't need to clamp it for most uses, the drawer liner pieces keep it form slipping around. I already do this with the larger table but it has to go on a larger table or my MFT.

The new size also work with the small MFT style extension table I have for my shopsmith.

Using the same "grip" as before will work fine. It looks like it will work in both directions too
