Looking for model 10 e tool rest

Post by kalenwilson03 »

Hello their, I am looking for a tool rest for my model e . I have found tool tests that look similar to what I need but it is for a mark v. Does anybody know if I can use a mark v, or does anybody have a 10 e tool rest I could buy?

As John said the Lathe Tool Rest assembly and parts show up all the time on online auctions. The Model 10E and 10ER assemblies are different than the Mark 5/V assemblies. The Lathe Tool Rest assembly is made up of the Tool Rest, Arm, Post and collar for the Model 10's. The Mark series Lathe Tool Rest assembly does not include a collar. The tool rest itself is interchangeable between the Model 10's and the Mark 5/V's. The Arm, Post and Collar are not interchangeable. For the Model 10 Lathe tool rest assembly there are different versions of the rest, arm and even the post but all are interchangeable with each other.

The 10E/ER tool rest arms are different than the Mark V arms, but the tool rests themselves both have 3/4" posts and will work fine.
I have a SS 4" tool rest that I got on eBay and also have a modular rest that I got from Lee Valley with a 3/4" post and they both fit.
