555937 Shopsmith Adjustable Stop Collar

Post by dusty »

Shopsmith markets an adjustable stop collar for 1 1/4" table legs.

Does anyone know where a similar device can be purchased for 1" pipe/tubing.

Does the Shopsmith device depend on the rack cut into the table tubes?

This is what I have. I would like to have the same thing for other size tubing (especially 1").

My apologies, my sleep-addled eyes read that as 1 1/4" pipe/tubing, thus I caused my own confusion.

These devices are available, like this one from Stafford, but I would expect they are going to be pricey, you might find the Shopsmith version to be an excellent deal. Depending on how you would use it, a 1 1/4" OD x 1" ID sleeve might allow that to work for you.

Not you at all. I altered the original text to change 1 1/4" to 1".

I am looking for a stop collar to clamp onto 1" tubing (table tubes) that is adjustable in length like the SS stop collar. same function -- different application

Thanks for the reference, however, because I found a solution to still a different application.

I recently purchased two adjustable collars with scales. SS sent me two collars and ONE set of scales. When I wrote to customer service and asked where the other set of scales was, they said the bundle included two collars but only one set of scales. How ridiculous is that. I wrote back to them and said their ad was misleading and they should send a second set of scales or send an RMA number so I could return the order. I have not heard from them yet. Has anyone else had this problem?

No but then I purchased three stop collars one at a time. I have never seen (read) an ad that offered a pair of stop collars.

Must have changed...I bought 2 of these last year and received 2 scales with it. Why on Earth would they only send you 1 scale when you purchased 2 collars?
